Thirupaavai - Song -8
Aandaal is waking up her third friend.
Dear friend,
Can you see the eastern sky ?It is becoming
bright, like our mind getting clear from ignorance. Guru is the
sunshine. Our village farmers are taking their buffaloes for
grazing. All other friends are proceeding; they are in a hurry
.I have requested them to wait for you. Please wakeup and come
out!
But that friend asks what she will gain by
undertaking this
viratham. Like a mother asking her kids to do their home
work by showing some snacks, Aandaal is showing the Lord. She
says that the Lord will bless her friend with wealth and what
ever she wishes.
Aandaal says that the Lord will be surprised
to see her friend.
Here that friend is Aandaal's mind only. Today
religion is living based on prayers to get some materialistic
pleasures. Aandaal knew this very well. So she is not asking us
to shed any thing immediately.
Poor villagers are mentioned by Aandaal to
make all Gurus to approach every sect in the society. Buffaloes
are symbol of adamant behaviour. Guru needs more tolerance to
handle the disciples.
By giving up our ego, the Lord will bless us
with a happy life. This song is dedicated to Aandaal's father,
because he lived a happy, wealthy, spiritual life. He became
Lord's father-in-law finally. What more does he need?
