              Thirupaavai - Song -4

This song shows the environmental studies of ancient India. The water cycle process has been very clearly explained in this study.

AANDAAL is asking the deity of rain to drink large amounts of water from the oceans and to become dark like Krishna, so that she can at least see the dark clouds to alleviate her anxiety of separation.

The monsoon clouds must lighten like Krishna's disc weapon ''Sudar.shanam''.

Then the thunder should sound like his conch which was blown during the Mahabharata war, but here it is to defeat MAN.MATHA...GOD OF ROMANCE.

Then the monsoon rain must shower like the arrows of SREERAMA in war with the demons in SREELANKA, so that she can get drenched to alleviate her feelings of love and separation. She feels as if Krishna is hugging her because every celestial body is a manifestation of the Lord.

She says that like Rama's arrows, separation is piercing her body and mind.

She is mentioning about Rama avatharam, because in that avatharam Rama said that whoever surrendered to him will be rescued. Also, Rama took the toughest risk of constructing a bridge across the sea to attain his wife Sitha. Rama alone can understand Aandaal's love and pain of separation.

Beyond all these there is a great message to mankind .Whatever may be the problem we face personally, we must always serve the society

True selfless service will remove all the pain in our lives. Aandaal asks the rain god to bless the whole world without troubling the living beings with floods.

She has depended on this rain which will fill the tanks and ponds around Sreevilliputhur ,so that she can often take bath and observe Margali viratham. The ponds has to be ever filled with water till Krishna comes in PanguniUthiram for her wedding so that  the divine couple can play and swim.

Exercise: Can we check our self whether we have rain water harvesting mechanism in our house? Or you can become aware about steps to conserve water.
