Thamil Changam - English articles
SONG 22
When we become aware, immediately we can’t realize the Paramathma, we
need constant sadhana to realize it. Imagine a copper vessel lying
inside a well for a long time. If we need to see the real beauty of that
vessel we need to polish it for a long time. It takes a long time to do
that but we continue the cleaning process.
Similarly we need to cleanse our body and mind with awareness to
realize the Paramathma So Aaandaal is again asking
Krishna
who is not waking up, to open his eyes like a blossoming lotus. His eyes
are compared to the sun and the moon, the two sources of energy.
Realizing Paramathma ----the absolute truth -
is the sunrise in our life. Then
she is asking him to look at us .
Again she has compared us with the kings who lost their power and
surrendered to Krishna. We always think
that we are rulers of this earth and of our lives, and we try to control
even Nature. We refuse to accept that in a flash, the Lord will make us
a beggar.
The Lord's kind vision will remove all our sins, mistakes and
ignorance.
*On all Thursdays Lord Sreenivasa in Thirupathi will be showing his
eyes to devotees which is called as ''netra darshnam'' and it is
considered to be very sacred.
Most of the Hindu Goddesses are named with adjectives celebrating
their eyes, because eyes are the main organs through which our soul can
communicate the real love and affection to all living beings.
*During Margazhi festival, Lord Sreeranganathar gets decorated as
Mahalaxmi. Once Sree Ramanujar saw that decoration, but he told the Lord
that his eyes were not showering the love and compassion to devotees
like Sreeranganayaki. This shows how eyes are very special to us because
we get awareness only by observing every action in this world.
Exercise: Try to look upon others kindly with love and compassion and
observe the vibrations in your eyes. Try to link that with your
feelings.
