SONG 19

This is the second song in which Aaandal is explaining how Radha and Krishna are sleeping on their sacred cot with a luxurious bed. But this shows how Aaandal is very much balanced in mind to accept Krishna's romance without possessiveness.

Today many women make fun of Sitha, Kannagi, Nalaayeni, Savithri, and Panchaali who lived only for their husbands. Our religion says that there is no need for a woman to undergo any rituals or other spiritual sadhanas if she had totally surrendered and was dedicated to her husband. In this relationship only can we completely shed our self ego.

To share the personal life with another woman is the most painful, egoistic sadhana for a woman. But Radha, Rukmini, Kannagi have all come across this pain.

Sreerangam is the most auspicious centre for south Indian Vaishnavism where the idols worshipped by Rama’s family are residing. But in Sreerangam, Lord Ranganathar and Mahalaxmi Sreeranganayaki are always in separation. Only once in a year on Panguni Uthiram [mid of March] day, for a few hours they will meet and be together. It is the most auspicious day for Vaishnavites.

It is believed that the Lord had a love affair with another lady named Kamalavalli who resided in a place called Uraiyoor [near Sreerangam].Laxmi came to know about this and the problem started. She refused to allow the Lord to enter her shrine. She also abuses him in front of people.

Swami Namaalwaar [considered to be her father of wisdom] interferes and helps them make peace and come together.

This beautiful concept of shedding the materialistic and impersonal ego by Laxmi  will be dramatized by the poojaris with simple dialogues but  with hidden great spiritual teachings before the public.

So like Ranganayaki, Aandaal has already burnt her impersonal and materialistic ego.

Beautiful big sacred lamps are emitting light of wisdom in the bedroom where a big cot with 4 legs made of elephant tusks is placed. The cot has a nice spongy bed, upon which Krishna is sleeping. His hands are placed on the soft breasts of Radha after the romantic plays. Her hair is scented with flowers.

Krishna's broad chest is celebrated as soft, flowery chest where Sree Mahalaxmi resides for ever. There is a great lesson hidden in this word. Mahalaxmi never cares or worried about Lord's actions .She only knows to love him for ever. This is real love. The greatest, purest love is ''UNCONDITIONAL LOVE''. Mahalaxmi is performing that state of love. Whether he lives with Radha, Rukmini or with Aandaal she never cares, because she has surrendered to him. She wants only his love and attention. She is also confident about his actions. She never expects anything from him. So the Lord is addressed as ''MALAR MAARBAN''.

Aandaal is asking Krishna to open his mouth and talk to Radha, so that she will get up and open the doors, because Krishna may still involve in romantic play.

Try to understand how difficult it is for a lover to express all these happenings unless she has shed her impersonal ego.

Then she is teasing Radha for not making Krishna to get up from the bed. This is to realize that our intellect must constantly ask our awareness to realize the Paramathma. Radha's eyes are so beautiful with eyeliner, which is hiding Aandaal and her friends who have arrived at the entrance.

Then she is totally surrendering and expressing her longing and pain of separation to Radha and asking her to feel for her.

After reading this, modern people will think nonsense of all these songs, but we need to come out of this matrix world of illusion and try to feel the concepts.

Exercise: Try to appreciate your enemy's good gestures and try to feel comfortable with situations where you feel odd.
