               Thirupaavai - Song -16

Dear friends, from this song onwards, Aandaal is going to address many characters from Krishna's life. We can consider all those characters as various states of Gurus or various levels of our own spiritual maturity.

The great concept of ''SARANAAGADHI''...TOTAL SURRENDER will be discussed in these songs. Aandaal herself is going to perform how to shed the self ego and surrender to attain the Lord.

*In this song she has clearly declared that the Lord will bless with those who surrender to Him with salvation. This also shows how the ordinary Gopies transformed into great devotees of the Lord. These songs also explain how to enter into a south Indian temple and have the darshan of the Lord in the sanctum.

These songs will also guide women to have good relationships in the family, to live peacefully with their husbands.

First, Aandaal talks of Nandhaa [Krishna's dad] as'' NAAYAKAN''. .meaning, the head of the community. She says that the father is the head of the family. The entire house must be under his benevolent supervision. He is the king of the big family. Krishna has never exposed his greatness before his parents and disrespected them. He lived as a lovable, ordinary son.

Aandaal is requesting the guard who is protecting the big house of Krishna, to open the large beautiful doors for their entry. Though she is Laxmi's incarnation and beloved of the Lord, she has not entered into the Lord's house without proper permission. This is the first step of shedding the ego of status.

Dear ladies! how many of you have given up the ego of telling ;''DO YOU KNOW WHO I AM?I AM SO AND SO'S WIFE\MOTHER\SISTER?''. All these relations are like characters in a play. We are acting in a big play in many roles. Any moment, God will change the role. The relations are created by us to help others, not to control others.

The entrance gates were decorated with bells, flags and garlands which show that Yasodhaa always maintains her home like a temple. KOIL is the very common word in Tamil for temple. KO means king and IL means home. King's home [palace] was the koil once because kings were taking care of their people like their own children .Here Nandhaa is the king of Gokulam and is always ready to serve his people.

Now the guard is asking the reason for their visit and Aandaal says that Krishna has promised them to bless with salvation.

She says that they have cleansed their mind and body to see Krishna, and requests the guard to sing in praise of Krishna, so that he will wake up.

Doors have been mentioned here. They denote our awareness. With the guru’s help we need to keep on trying our best to surrender to Lord to become aware. When our mind gets opened with the doors of intellect then it will be easy for us to proceed further on our spiritual journey.

The following few songs are again dedicated to THONDAR.ADI.PODI .AALWAAR who has recited songs in praise of Sreeranganathar to wake him up. In all south Indian temples the early morning ritual of waking up Lord is performed as SUPRABAATHAM'' .We need to identify the paramathma within us .This is called ''Suprabaatham''.

Dear friends, we are not alone in this world. We are born with many relations and friends. We are connected with everybody. So we need to respect all. A man who has been shown disrespect by you may become your boss tomorrow. Think about it, because the Lord can change any situation. So try your best to be humble to all. Even if you have dislike for somebody, please do not express it. Aandaal has never addressed anyone very special to her. She has welcomed the entire world for this journey.

Exercise: Try your best to be lovable and humble with your servants, peons, gardeners, drivers, etc. for a day and observe their attitude towards you.
