Thirupaavai - Song -13
This song is very important for historians because they are able
to predict the period of Aaandaal's earthly life using hints
given in the song. This song is also very auspicious because it
says all young maidens have reached the altar near the pond for
the Paavai poojas.
Rama just plucked away all the10 heads of
Ravana like plucking the buds from the stem. This is the
symbolism of removing the total self ego.
Krishna's Bagaasoora vatham is also remembered in
this song. Bagasoora came to kill Krishna in the form of a stork.
Aandaal and her friends are singing in praise
of the Lord and are also getting ready to have the sacred bath.
Here the sacred bath refers to ''cleansing our
mind and body for healthy spiritual life''.
The whole concept of panchabootha treatment is
based on cleansing our body and mind. Try to connect all
concepts of panchabootha treatment with this song.
Aandaal has mentioned that it was the time
when Venus appeared on the eastern side and Jupiter faded
slowly.
Venus ---the God of Love
is appearing slowly while Jupiter ---the Guru fades. This means
....now it is the time for the Guru to act, and support
the
devotees when they are ready for spiritual life. Venus is the
symbol of ''DIVINE LOVE''.
Aandaal is asking her
friend to give up her ''cunningness'' of mind. She is also
asking her to come out soon to relish the sacred bath in the
cool ponds after the rituals. Taking bath in water is the
literary expression to denote
sexual intercourse or the romantic
moods of lovers.
This song makes us remember the day when all
Gopies observed this
viratham. When they were taking bath,
Krishna took away their clothes and asked them to
come out naked. This is a very important aspect which denotes
that we need to shed the self--sexual--identity. Gopies shed
their identity and attained Krishna.
Radha was the very first Gopi to come out of the pond. Radha is
the symbol of our awareness, which will sure come out of this
pond of apparent truth.
Exercise: Try to
correlate the panchabootha healing concepts with this song.
